Annie Chun's Biodegradeable Bowls

I never like cooking for myself, so I always end up retreating to quick meals - like canned soups and noodle bowls. One of my faves is Annie Chun's noodle bowls.

The great thing about them? The food is all natural (not organic), AND, the bowls are biodegradable! They are made from corn, and what I like to do with the bowls after the meal is use them for food compost by the sink. I just thrown the whole bowl into the compost pile when it's full. Yay!

You can read more about the bowls on her website (some of her products are also gluten free as well!), and make a small donation for children in need here.

Downfall, yes, they're not cheap (I think they're normally $3.50ish at Ralph's - I've gotten them at Trader Joe's though, and I'm pretty sure they're cheaper there)

Now I just need to get worms for my compost pile...

you need worms for your compost bin??? where do you live that finding worms is so difficult? Well it is winter. I guess I should keep that in mind. I live in the south so its not difficult to find worms all year long. I just rake back the leaves in the woods and there they are.

Hahah well I live in San Diego - where it's not hard to FIND worms, so to speak, but I live in an upstairs complex, so I need to purchase a bunch, which is like $40 and I don't feel like shelling out $40 for worms just yet....

i was working in my yard last weekend and found a TON of worms everywhere i dug! i was so freaked out that i was going to actually put my shovel through one of them and kill it, so i had to be a little more careful (and work a little slower). if sending worms is legal, i'll totally send you some! :) btw, GREAT helpful site!!

OMG! You should totally send me some! The thing is, they're pretty specific about the kind of worms that are good for composting - I think they're red wiggler worms

Yeah, I read that somewhere, too...I think I just have regular earthworms. Bummer!

Ah, how do her soups taste? I've seen them in the stores but haven't tried them.

I really enjoy them - my favorit is probably the udon soup - good flavor and nice big udon noodles! :D
